Love

In the corner of my garden,
far on the left
tucked away in the soil
is a strawberry.

I left it there to grow eight years ago.

Tiny green shoots appeared
From the thick black earth,
And a juicy red strawberry
ripened in front of me.

I left it there to grow eight years ago.

Seeing the strawberry
sweetens my day
As its roots dig deeper my heart does too
Because that little strawberry, reminds me
of you.

I left it there to grow eight years ago.
This little strawberry
has shown me love
eight years in a row.
